Descripción : Rare Floor-size Carved Wooden monkey statue, sculpture from the Bulu (Boulou) tribe, a subgroup of the Beti-Fang people in Cameroon and Gabon. Dark tone wooden monkey with raffia skirt, one hand on belly. The monkey is meant to represent knowledge and its relationship between humans and animals in nature, and strongly symbolizes spirituality. The sculpture measures approx 28 inches in height by 10 inches in diameter. Sculpture has minor surface wear like scratches and discoloration of wood consistent with age.
