Descripción : 18 strings with glass beads add to watchlistWestafrika of various size and form, barrel- or tube-shaped, thread on cotton strings, strengthened with plant fibre, some beads with minor missing parts, so-called mosaic or millefiori (many flowers) beads, coming from Italian beadmakers in Murano and Venice. Moretti & fill. of Murano sent sampler cards with millefiori beads to West Africa as early as the 1920s. Millefiori beads are essentially lamp-wound beads, that is, beads made by winding molten glass above oil lamps around a metallic rod or wire.
