Descripción : DOUBLE HERM Roman, ca. 2nd century A.D. White marble carved full round, with sintering. Representation of the god Hermes on both sides. One side as a youth, the other as a mature, older man with beard. The younger side with bulging eyelids and forehead, small pointed mouth, the chin protruding, densely curled hair tied in a diadem. The older side with similar eyes but more widely spaced, small mouth with fleshy lips slightly parted, long mustache with symmetrical curls, the wavy and slightly curly hair tied into a diadem. The hair bands dropping to the shoulders on both sides. On a later rotating base. H without base 26 cm. Weathered. Supplements and restorations. Various Losses. Small restoration to the chin of the youth. Jh. n. Chr. Weisser Marmor vollrund gearbeitet mit Versinterungen. Beidseitige Darstellung des Gottes Hermes. Eine Seite als Jugendlicher, die andere als reifer, älterer Mann mit Bart. Die jüngere Seite mit wulstigen Augenlidern und Stirn, kleiner gespitzter Mund, das Kinn vorstehend, dicht gelocktes Haar in ein Diadem gebunden. Die ältere Seite mit ähnlichen Augen, jedoch weiter auseinander stehend, kleiner Mund mit fleischigen Lippen symmetrisch leicht gescheitelt, langer volutenartiger Schnurrbart mit symmetrischen Locken, das wellige, wenig gelockte Haar in ein Diadem gebunden. Die Haarbänder von beiden Seiten auf die Schultern fallend. Auf späterem drehbarem Sockel. H ohne Sockel 26 cm. Verwitterungen. Ergänzungen und Restaurierungen. Diverse Fehlstellen. Kleine Restaurierung am Kinn des Jugendlichen.
