A deep blue scarab with inscription to the underside for Queen Tawseret (1193-1186 BC), mounted in an antique gold brooch with old accession number to the underside '47.2188'. 5.41 grams, 24mm (1). Ex Hubbard collection, London, UK, acquired on the UK art market from 1990. Around 1200 BCE during the excavation for the tomb of pharaoh Sethnakht, the tomb of Queen Tawseret was unexpectedly dug into. His solution was to steal her tomb for himself, and move her mummy elsewhere, possibly to a chamber in the tomb of Amenophis II.
