The first volume has been recased with the original boards and a brown leatherette spine with the original backstrip laid down. The bindings are solid. The pages show mild age toning and scattered light foxing. This edition was not issued with color plates, it is profusely illustrated with textual illustrations, as well as hieroglyphic texts.
