Desroches-Noblecourt. This set is made up of a small (11.25 x 14.25) and a large folio (13 x 17.25). These volumes are bound in their original pale blue moiré silk-backed boards, with color insets to the front covers and stamped gilt lettering to the spines. The books show moderate external wear, with light shelfwear to the covers, including sunning to the spines. The bindings are firm. The volumes are adorned with pictorial endpapers. The pages are clean and bright. This work is profusely illustrated with b&w photographic plates, full-page illustrations and diagrams. There is also a color frontispiece and a color fold-out plate.
