The lithograph in colors is from the portfolio ‘Art suitcase. Dialogue of Cultures‘, which was published in Hanover on occasion of the World Exhibition EXPO 2000. It comprised 13 works by various international artists and was published under the patronage of Nelson Mandela. This lithograph was made by the Ethiopian artist Mickaël Bethe-Selassié on BFK Rives Velin. Depicted is the ‘Internationale Familie‘ in strong, fresh colors on a dark ground.
The color lithograph is signed and dated lower left in white crayon ‘Mickaël Bethe-Selassié 2000’ and numbered lower right white crayon ‘35/100’. The sheet is in very good condition and the image measures 73.5 x 54 cm.
Mickaël Bethe-Selassié (born 1951)
Mickaël Bethe-Selassie comes from Ethiopia and went 1971 to Paris. There he focused on painting and sculpture. The artist had several international exhibitions and his works of art remind to the Art Brut. His works create an intellectual adventure with a very specific expression. (lvp)
