Notes : Born in 1935, Durant Sihlali's work is often recognised by his watercolour works. Sihlali often painted scenes of places he visited. Sihlali describes his constant desire to capture the changing environment in which he had lived as a temporary sojourner; temporary because of the uncertainty attached to black urban existence.[1]
