Description : This beautiful piece was carved from wood by the Dogon tribe in Mali, Africa in the late 20th century. Piece has extensive wear and signs of use, as well as deterioration from the elements. Overall, the piece is in good condition for its age and amount of time spent in use. Measures approximately 29.5 x 9 with a total weight of 12 lbs. Provenance: These pieces were collected over a period of several decades out of collections from America and throughout Europe, including France, Germany, Belgium, and Amsterdam beginning in the early 1960s. The items in this collection have been identified by George Mack, former director of the Arizona African Art Museum.
