Description : Bamama Chiwara Female Antelope Headdress & 2 Ashanti Fertility Dolls - African Art. A vintage zoomorphic antelope Chi Wara headdress figure of carved wood depicting the female mythical being Chi Wara with her offspring on her back and made by the Bambara peoples of Mali. Mounted on a wooden base. Overall height - 28 1/2 H. Condition: repair and residual crack to female antelopes head, repair to offspring's head. Together with two Ashanti Fertility Dolls, one of carved wood (16 3/8 H on 1 5/8 base, some wear to edges of head, normal for age and use. ) and the other being of wood with a dark mud plaster overlay (14 1/8 H on a 1 1/2 base, some expected cracks to organic mud plaster and flake loss to right cheek)
